Our guest today may sound familiar to you. Dear Julide Iyit, who was our Astrology writer last year, she opened an organic market in New Jersey. Now she is appearing before us as an entrepreneur. Astrology fans don’t worry, because it goes hand in hand with both. We asked her all the questions, let’s hear from her. Welcome Jülide İyit, can you tell us a little about yourself? Who is Jülide İyit?

Julide Iyit: Of course, I was born in Istanbul in 1982. I have 3 siblings. I have been married for 15 years and I have a 12-year-old daughter.

Melda Sherman: Where are you from? Where do you live now? Where have you lived before?

Julide Iyit: I was born in Istanbul. I spent my life in Istanbul until I moved to the United States 2 years ago. Now I live in New Jersey, United States.

Melda Sherman: What is your profession?

Julide Iyit: My main profession is Advertising and Marketing, and I worked as an Organization Manager in many advertising companies for many years. My real passion, Astrology, which I had previously been interested in as a hobby, started to be professionally interested in 2015. I completed my education by taking lessons from many famous astrologers in this field. And I can define my real profession as Astrologer. Now I am running Supermarket Management with Astrology, which is not far from my first profession, Advertising and Marketing. The supermarket was my late father’s dream and a sector that my lawyer wife wanted very much.

Melda Sherman: How do you cope with the transformations in your life? Can you give us some tips?

Julide Iyit: I have been trying to listen to and understand life since I started astrology. Every difficulty I experience makes me stronger. I started to hold on to everything I had and appreciate it. And of course, hard and disciplined work.

Melda Sherman: We know that you are a versatile character. At least we know that you are a very good astrologer. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of being versatile?

Julide Iyit: First of all, if I talk about the disadvantages; I live my life in a rush because I work very hard. On the one hand, my research continues because I am an astrologer, and on the other hand, how can I serve better in the market? How can I develop more in this field? Because in my market, I do not only food but also various products that can be needed in daily life. The advantage is that working so much gives people pleasure because I do the things I love. I add new things to myself every time, and improving myself makes me happy.

Melda Sherman: You wrote articles as an astrologer for ArtTmodernmiami last year. We heard great comments about you from your clients. Now we know that your new job is to run an organic grocery store in NJ. Isn’t that a radical transformation?

Julide Iyit: We can define this not as a transformation but as an expansion. Astrology is a track that I will never give up and a new one has been added to this difficult but enjoyable track. Now, working on both tracks gives me pleasure. Because these two areas are open to development and improvement. In other words, staying stagnant is out of the question even if you want to. It would help if you improved yourself every moment, every second.

Melda Sherman: For inspiration, can you give us some tips on becoming a successful entrepreneur abroad?

Julide Iyit: Being abroad means a completely different culture and lifestyle. When we look at it from this perspective, to be successful, you must first feel like a part of this place and accept its system. If you choose to continue with your habits in your own country, things may go a little differently than you expected. Therefore, instead of trying something new here, you should try the existing system as soon as possible and put it into practice. So, my advice is, do not try to rediscover America.

Melda Sherman: What is it like to live in America? How did you adapt?

Julide Iyit: America is a completely different country from Turkey in every way. Most importantly, it is a country whose nature has never been spoiled and that cares about nature and living things. People are respectful of each other and aware of their rights. The hustle and bustle we are used to in Istanbul are not here. I am living a quieter life and this is exactly the life I want. Therefore, I can say that it was easy for me to get used to this place.

Melda Sherman: Therefore, I can say that it was easy for me to get used to this place.

Julide Iyit: A beautiful quote by John Lennon came to my mind: life is what happens to you while you are making other plans. Yes, I love traveling, but I haven’t had time to travel much because my experiences have revealed aspects of me that I didn’t know but later loved. My home and work environment are where I feel most comfortable. A person cannot achieve success and enjoy life without dreaming. Learning, accessing information, more information, information… As the person learns, their perspective on life and their approach to events change.

Melda Sherman: Can you tell us about your dreams and goals? Are they close to each other?

Julide Iyit: Dreams and goals are of course always inseparable. First, dream, then take action by focusing on the goal to make your dreams come true. Although my current business life is a result of my dreams, some of my dreams are not for myself, but for our best friends, the street animals. I dream of establishing a foundation for the care and feeding of street animals, and I will make this happen.

Melda Sherman: Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?

Julide Iyit: My biggest hobby is of course Astrology it is more of a part of my life than a hobby. Reading every book about astrology, learning new things, and interpreting current sky maps always make me happy. Apart from all these, spending time with my daughter, chatting with her, and watching movies is the greatest happiness of my life.

Melda Sherman: Where and how do you imagine yourself in five years?

Julide Iyit: As a female entrepreneur, owning a Cappadocia market chain. Thus, showing that women can also be successful in this field, which is mostly dominated by men.

Melda Sherman: Each of us has learned some of the secrets of life in life. What have you learned about life?

Julide Iyit: Every moment we live, every second we live, every word we learn, every event we experience adds so much to us, even if we don’t realize it sometimes. Sometimes even the painful losses we experience take us to another world within ourselves and enable us to become a different person. I turned to astrology after a very painful loss. I learned different dimensions of life with astrology. I learned not to say why in every event I experienced and everything that happened to me. I started to learn a lesson from every event. Yes, I experienced this because this event was trying to teach me these things, I started to understand what I needed to learn from these troubles. In short, I started to live life more slowly and meaningfully.

Melda Sherman: Let’s say the whole world will hear you! What would you like to say? Do you have a message?

Julide Iyit: I think what we humans need most is world peace. The bottom line is Ataturk. There is no problem that we cannot solve when we listen to Ataturk.

Thank you for this nice interview.
