I AM ABUNDANT, I AM NOTHING,
MY PLACE ONLY KNOWS BEING BY YOUR SIDE.
SENDING MY LONGING WITH THE WIND,
I PLANTED A KISS ON YOUR CHEEK.
MULTIPLYING WITH SEEDS,
SOAKED BY THE RAIN,
I WRAPPED MYSELF AROUND THE SAPLING.
SEEDING IS OVER,
NOW I AM NOTHING.
SAPLING TIME IS OVER,
NOW I AM A TREE.
FLOWERING IS OVER,
NOW I AM FRUIT.
FRUITING IS OVER,
NOW I AM SEED AGAIN.
I AM NOTHING,
I AM SOMETHING.
A DAY,
A NIGHT.
A SORROW,
A LAUGHTER.
I AM YOU,
I AM ME.
I DON’T KNOW MY PLACE,
I AM NAMELESS,
IN MY LONELINESS I AM ZERO,
WITH YOU, I AM ONE.
WHAT DO I KNOW OF DEATH?
I DIE AND REVIVE AGAIN AND AGAIN.
I AM RUMI, I AM ORHAN VELI,
I AM SHAKESPEARE, I AM FROST,
I AM MAYA ANGELOU,
I AM BERIL YABAR…
