The benefits of essential oils for body, soul, and mind, dating back thousands of years, have now begun to gain a place under the title of complementary therapy in modern medicine and are spreading rapidly. For this purpose, essential oils and aromatic oils obtained from various parts of plants are taken into the body through absorption from the mucosa and skin, swallowing, and the respiratory system, according to their properties.
People in modern society have increased their tendency towards practical, safe, less costly, and protective methods that are more effective and will cause less damage.
The plant has a high concentration of aromatic oils in 1 ml. Except for a few types of oils (e.g. lavender, tea tree), others are not used pure.
There is a possibility of neurotoxicity and toxic dose reaction if essential oils are not used by the rules that cannot be considered without symptoms or if the systemic condition of the people is ignored. Points to be considered in this regard;
-You must be sure of the place and method of production,
-Knowing well the properties of the selected aromatic oil; Evaluating the limits and at what concentration to use, knowing the dermal limits,
-It should be kept in mind that naturally produced preparations may not be protective and will not last long.
-Knowing the systemic diseases and drug interactions of the person to be administered
-The region to be used and the duration of use are important topics to consider.
Organizing aromatherapy with guidelines, improving the sources/preparation conditions of aromatic oils, and using essential oils in the treatment of symptoms are important in clinical aromatherapy.
Essential oils, which have been used for therapeutic purposes since ancient times, have pioneered and continue to pioneer many drugs used in modern medicine. These oils, which can be found at our disposal without skipping the developments in modern medicine, will contribute to our breathing and soul-body-mind cycle.
