“At the Threshold of the New Year: The Gate of the Sky, the Heart of Humanity”

light of Christmas – the year’s last breath – the sky’s new calendar
My dear readers, we have completed a year together. Being with you has been a unique experience for me.
Every year, as December arrives, the world takes a deep breath. The streetlights brighten; the air outside cools, but our hearts warm. As the calendar pages thin, time condenses. Christmas approaches, the New Year approaches, and we realize: another cycle has been completed. Our souls pause spontaneously to look back, to welcome what is coming. Because the New Year is not just a change of numbers, it is a shift in consciousness.
This year, as the Christmas fire burns, Saturn teaches its final lessons in Pisces, Venus creates an opening of the heart in the sky, and the Capricorn New Moon on December 21 seals the intentions rooted in the earth. This celestial combination reminds us:
The light of the New Year cannot begin without carrying the shadow of the past year.
Every new calendar first unfolds within us.
From the outside, Christmas appears merely as a tradition celebrated by millions of people around the world; but symbolically, it is much deeper. In the darkest days of winter, we celebrate the “birth of light.” Nature trembles, the earth rests, and humanity turns inward; and at that very moment, the sky whispers:
“In the heart of darkness, light is born.”
2025 is ending; 2026 stands at the door.
The sky’s message is simple yet powerful:
If you want to grow, root yourself.
If you want to rise, center yourself.
If you want a new path, first honor the old.
We have our own inner Christmases—the parts of us that felt cold in the past, the lights our childhood awaited, and the smiles left unfinished… However, there are also New Year’s within us—fresh soil, new doors, new lives that are not knocked on randomly, but at the right time. Astrology shows us the heavens’ clock, but it is still up to us to walk. As the calendar renews, so do we.
Perhaps this year we will speak less and be present.
Perhaps we will run less and take firmer steps.
Perhaps we will desire less but live more deeply.
Because the sky is teaching us quality, not quantity, this year.
When you look up in the first minute of the New Year, remember this:
The planets revolve above; we, below.
Nevertheless, the cycles pass through the same center.
The movement of the sky touches the movement of the soul— and this contact helps a person grow.
The New Year is not a new life, but a new consciousness.
It is not changing homes, but crossing the threshold.
It is not walking the same path, but becoming aware of each step.
With these lines, my journey in the magazine concludes.
Thank you for every moment we have read the sky together.
Time is now calling me to another door, but the sky is always the same:
It neither turns nor stops—it just reminds.
May the light of the New Year touch everyone’s heart?
May 2026 come to us all, like light emerging from darkness.
May it be a blessed Christmas, a blessed New Year, and a blessed new cycle?

The sky changes—and so do we.
As long as you do not forget to look up.
With love,
Oguzhan Aslankurt
Astrologer
