Hello everyone from London,
I can almost hear you saying Realllyyyy???? When you look at the title, let me answer right away. 😊 Yes! I am among the successful, inspiring women from different countries in different fields organized by the Sheinspires Foundation in Culture and Arts in England. 😊 I always knew I was a woman who both inspired and received inspiration; being the “chosen person” in a subject is a different feeling. 😊
I am starting my article by thanking “UN Global Schools Advocate, Dear Elif Selçuk” who suggested me for the “England Sheinspires Foundation” for the inspiring Woman of the Year Awards. The process that started with me being nominated in March continued with me being a finalist and today I am in England to receive the award at the award ceremony. I thought long and hard about what to write about this subject and decided to talk about Tugba’s process of receiving the “Inspiring Woman Award”. Let this article be about the inspirations I will give, just like those I receive from others…
First, I would like to give you brief information about Dear Elif Selçuk, why did she nominate me?
As you know, filmmaking entered my life in recent years. The first film I produced was “Serbülent Apartmanı”, a social responsibility project. This film we made during the Covid period was a film where the actors and the behind-the-scenes team did not even receive a fee and we overcame the difficulties thanks to our valuable sponsors.
We questioned the values and shot this film during the Covid period which almost created a simulation. Elif Selçuk entered my life during this period. She is a devoted and visionary teacher living in Denizli, loves her job; does international work, organizes conferences, and is a strong woman who is an example to many young people and the younger generation… You cannot keep track of the international awards she receives. Imagine the light such a teacher spread around her! Elif Selçuk, who works with the United Nations, has received the Global Teacher Award…
That was when she reached out to me – I live in Florida – and asked me if I could participate in the online conference organized for us to inspire her students. As you will read in one of the items below, I am sensitive to students and the younger generation. I accepted immediately and we had a wonderful meeting. Right after that, I attended a “March 8 Inspiring Women Conference” attended by 5 countries and we supported each other as much as we could, albeit via Zoom.
It all happened with sincere feelings, we closed the Covid period with creative energy and projects.
We didn’t see each other for 3 years, but then I continued to make exhibitions. We founded a newspaper (ArtTmodernmiami Newspaper)
We also shot ECHO, an American and Italian production I produced.
Our film shot in Rome-Miami and St Augustine, is currently busy collecting awards from festivals! It is proof that Echo’s Echo has reached the world that dear Elif Selçuk nominated me for the Sheinspires Foundation in England…
Well, I admit it too. I have a rather colorful life. 😊 But believe me, I laid every stone of it myself, by feeling like it, doing things I love, and sharing what I have learned.
As one of the Inspiring Women of the Year, I am giving you some tips. You can evaluate them, read them with a coffee, or let them go in one ear and out the other like soap bubbles. It’s up to you.
Pearls and comments from an Inspiring Woman:
1st Point: First of all, I believe in karma. Whatever you do and think, you attract into your life. That’s why a person needs to control their thoughts and actions.
Just like fasting! Some things are forbidden! I think this is what they call ego. If you can overcome this, other challenges will become easier to face.
In the 2000s, my dear wife had a primary school built in a beautiful village in Istanbul and donated it to the state. When I saw the efforts of many donors who contributed to the construction of the school, the feeling of “What can I do?” took over me. What did I do? I decorated the school’s walls with my pastel paintings, mostly of children’s drawings, as an example to the children. This was so effective that, after the school opened, I could not refuse the school principal’s request and worked as a volunteer art teacher at that school for a year. I can never forget the inner peace I felt, the enthusiasm of those children in lessons, and their admiration that turned into idolatry! So, when did I see the fruits of this? In the first years after I moved to America, I immediately enrolled in an international school for adaptation. And in those days when I was like a fish out of the sea, I was like those children looking at me with eyes full of hope. What happened after that? After a very short while; I became the face of that school in Boston. As an artist, I have given art talks at esteemed universities, and thanks to the network provided by the school, I opened my exhibitions in various locations throughout Boston.
In addition, with the talks I gave as “Immigration” and “Voice of Immigration with Art”, this situation and process progressed to me receiving a thank you letter from the governor of Massachusetts. Those children and the karma they created were always on my mind. If that energy did not return; why would those children come to mind during the miraculous feelings I experienced at that time? When karma is experienced, one remembers the beginning of that karma!
2nd Point: Do not waste your precious energy on things and people who do not deserve it!
I am a person who thinks and questions a lot. Despite this, I have a side that makes others think I am naive. For example, depending on the value of the environment I meet; I usually give people 100 points, unlike many people. 😊 Over time, experiences have created permanent companions who have exceeded that point, and people whose points have decreased and are “0” in my eyes. But I never let it go to minus, I changed my direction. This allowed me to stay above the water with every wave because I did not waste my breath in vain. Remember that every breath you waste will be necessary for you! Use your precious energy for things that will be good for you! Treat life like a game and you are a player too. Don’t play the game boringly!
While passing boring and difficult exams of life, I made it fun by playing with myself. I even created slogans and sentences for myself, which are manifestos in my art and designs.
“The frog that jumps the highest is the deaf frog”
3rd Point: DARE!
Whatever is considered a success in life, I dared to want it all and work to make it my own.
4th Point: The luck factor…
I can say that in the past of many things that are now interpreted as luck, there is daring and hard work.

5th Point: “Use everything that comes your way,” said Epictetus.
Why did you endure all that He had not come to you for your benefit? Why did the Almighty God, who considers everything, grant you all the experiences you’ve had? There is surely a purpose to it—find that purpose!
6th Point: Turn within yourself from time to time! This is a must to avoid getting lost on the road!
7th Point: Do not share your plans and dreams with anyone until everything is clear!
I sometimes think about the beginning of everything, when I was very young; I used to share my dreams with the people around me assuming they would feel the same excitement. However, I had a talent that did not make me very happy, such as reading the disbelief on their faces and body language. After a while, I started not hearing anyone like that Deaf frog. Since I could not listen to their voices, which I assumed were saying “No, you can’t do it, it won’t work, you will fail, etc.” with their body language, the strange struggles I saw in front of me remained, and I continued to work. Moreover, that kind of crowd started to entertain me, is it good? 😉 Now I look around, there is none! Just think, people give up on their dreams at the beginning of the road for people and groups that will not be with them years later!
This led me to look at what people do, not what they say. Actions taken without any gain are very important! Like smiling at people, you don’t know and saying a warm “hello”… You’d be surprised how many people don’t do it! This is why I love America and Americans so much.
8th Point: Conclusion: Read the subtitles!
9th Point: Protect your energy and stay away from energy vampires!
“The thing that gets screwed the most in the world is called “Experience”. “This valuable saying belongs to me. 😊 However, if I lived with this feeling, I would live it like the third-page news in the newspapers. People experience various difficulties, being used, and devalued, ups and downs. Of course, these experiences are also a test! Here it is! We have to pass those tests. Otherwise, how will our souls evolve and level up? I think someone who has never had a hard time, has never lived…
The secret here is “Conserve energy” and “Stay away from energy vampires” I don’t need to define this, I’m sure you have one or two amoebas around you. 😊
10th Point: Reset yourself every new year or birthday!
Where am I going? What do I want? What should I do? These are the right times to ask yourself these questions!
And finally, never forget! Every new beginning is difficult but contains miracles. Someone who always has the same problems and mistakes is in the wrong place. If possible, away from people who always try to get along with everyone with the feeling of being loved. 😊 Don’t be too sad for those who left your life for no reason or a reason, their roles in your life were short. You are the leading role in your life, never forget that! And always BE GRATEFUL🙏🏻
BONUS Point: * Always be grateful 🙏🏻
