Festival of Lovemaking

-

|

Beril YABAR, Florida

In this life, you must savor everything.

You will gaze into your lover’s eyes for a long, long time,

And you will see love

Without ever looking away.

The eyes of both of you

Will smile from deep within.

You will make love

With the first light of morning,

As if there were a Festival of Lovemaking.

Every touch

Will send a delightful shiver through you.

Every kiss

Will last for minutes.

And the two of you

Will grow pleasantly weary,

Holding each other close.

“Why do I love you

So much,

So beautifully?”

you will ask.

And you will say it again

And again

Throughout the day.

Some poems are born of longing; others, of memories. This poem, however, was born of a celebration of love.

The “Festival of Lovemaking” is not merely about physical intimacy. It speaks of the serene joy found in truly seeing one another, the peace brought by a lingering touch, and the act of choosing the same love over and over again. Sometimes, love flourishes most beautifully in the first light of morning, when two people simply offer each other their time and their presence.

I would like to thank the ArtTmodernmiami family for publishing my work and sharing it with you.

I hope this poem reminds every reader that love itself is a celebration ;a celebration worthy of being honored every single day.

With love,

Beril Yabar
