A New Life

-

|

**Trash trucks you see**

Don’t you wish they could take away your sorrows?

Unspeakable truths linger,

Truths you don’t want to face.

Your universe collapses into pieces;

You do have to see it.

Your soul must live this,

And suffer within this sea of sorrow…

You must have ignored your worth,

topped loving yourself,

To be disrespected and

Treated in such an awful way.

Fill the rooms of your heart with joy,

Even in the midst of sadness.

Be bold, be selfish—

Discover yourself again!

You are not a puzzle piece;

There’s no need to solve anything.

No need to be put together;

You are not broken!

Release the envy, the ego, the truth—

The “why,” the “me,” the “we,” and the “you.”

top forgiving, pushing, and pulling,

To become whole again.

You don’t need to pull yourself together;

You must throw those pieces away.

You’ve forgotten who you are.

Whatever is taken from you,

Grow something new.

Grow a new heart for what was lost;

Grow new lungs for the breath that was taken.

Be louder if your voice is silenced,

If it felt like it was left in a vacuum.

Grow stronger hands,

For the old ones carry dirt—

Let it go.

Be confident—

There’s no trophy to gain;

Heartbreak is not a game.

Let time take its course.

Tell God, tell the universe,

The hurts, the losses—

Once and for all,

Let it go…

For you were born with free will,

With a purpose,

And you are tired.

The journey was long,

Long before you were born.

Your little life here,

Though it’s not fair,

Has been a short one.

Let the narrow-minded drift with the wind,

The imperfect perceptions of your human mind.

Things can happen to you,

Only if you allow them.

For to you, they happen,

If you think it through…

top waiting for the postman,

The email, the message,

The “like.”

It’s the lost soul who waits;

You, without ego,

should be waited on.

Release your frightened mind;

stand at the shore.

You need not rewind

The hands of time—

Without thought of a return

To the past…

Give your blessings to the wind,

spread your shredded soul flakes

Into the vast oceans.

Your eyesight may worsen;

Don’t pay attention.

Your walk will slow,

You will run less;

You’ll breathe heavily,

Your heart will change its rhythm

As you age…

But remember, death will come;

There is nothing to fear.

It’s merely a new beginning—

A chance to shed old skin,

To rise again in a different form,

With wisdom earned through sorrow.

That doesn’t mean things are gone;

Each new day sparkles,

Bringing light to what remains,

shining brightly in the darkness.

Tune your heart, your eyes, your breath—

Let your soul’s music resonate.

Embrace the ebb and flow,

Within the cycles of life,

You will find your purpose anew.

stand tall, spread your wings,

And dance in the winds of change—

For you are not just surviving;

You are becoming.
